Though they aren't found as readily these days, there is still an active community of collectors out there. If you've been looking to start a collection, Beanie Babies may be right up your alley! Here are some tips for collecting those little tykes.

First, head to your local toy stores and see what they have. Even though you may not find any rarities at these places, they're a good way to start your collection. Just look for animals that tickle your fancy - what's most important is that you like the Beanie Babies you own. Once you've started to build up a collection, you can go out and meet other enthusiasts. Look online and see if there are any Beanie Baby shows coming up nearby. This is where you'll be able to find the rare and retired items a bit easier.

If you really want to find the rarest Beanie Babies, you can always look at online auction sites. While there is a certain thrill to finding one of them "in the wild," you may have better luck by searching on the web.
