Simple and Delicious Soft Tacos

March 2nd, 2012 Cooking

Who doesn't enjoy taco night? Not only is this staple of Mexican food very easy to make, but you and your family members can mix and match flavors as you see fit. If you're looking to change things up for dinner every now and then, learning a delicious soft taco recipe might be right up your alley. RealSimple has provided a simple and delightful take on this classic dish that you can prepare in less than half an hour! Try this out the next time you're stumped for what to make for dinner and your family may endlessly thank you for the meal.

Ingredients
One tablespoon olive oil
One onion, chopped
Two cloves garlic, chopped
One pound ground beef
Half-cup chopped parsley
Quarter-cup tomato paste
Half-head small green cabbage, shredded
Two medium tomatoes, chopped
One cup fresh cilantro sprigs
Hot sauce (optional)
Tortillas

First, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook for about three to four minutes, until it starts to soften. Next, add the garlic and let it cook for about a minute.

Stir in the beef, parsley and tomato paste, as well as half a teaspoon of salt and pepper. Break the meat up with a wooden spoon and allow it to cook until brown, which should take about 10 minutes.

When the mixture is finished cooking, serve in a tortilla along with the cabbage, tomatoes and cilantro. Sprinkle some cheese on top, and add hot sauce if you'd like to give it a bit of a kick. It's a simple recipe that your family may soon beg you to make again and again!
