How to Run the Roulette Wheel and Other Vegas Game Party Tips

August 5th, 2013 Games

You may love Las Vegas, but that doesn't mean you always have the funds to fly out there and hit the casinos. Thankfully, you can easily throw a Vegas-themed party and bring all of the fun games and excitement of Vegas into your own home. If you've never thrown a theme party before, you've been missing out. When you have a party with a theme, your guests get an opportunity to dress in fun costumes, bring along items that go with your theme and feel as though they've been transported to somewhere completely different.

Unsure how to throw a Vegas-style party? Luckily for you, this is one of the most popular themes out there, so there are plenty of past shindigs that you can use for inspiration.

Get invitations - Yahoo recommended that if you're going to throw a casino-themed party, you should send out proper invitations. All too often, people get invited to parties through email or social media, so they may appreciate getting an actual invitation in the mail. Look for ones with a casino-themed picture on the front, such as dice, a roulette wheel or playing cards.

Rent equipment - TLC explained that while you can pick up a roulette wheel and playing cards if you want to simply have a game night, you should try to go all-out if you want your guests to feel as though they're really in a Las Vegas casino. Look online to rent real blackjack and poker tables, as well as a full-size roulette wheel and maybe even small slot machines. These can be surprisingly affordable and can make a real difference at your party.

Learn to play the games - Some of your guests may have never been to a casino before. If so, you should be the person they turn to to ask how they should play certain games. If you've never played poker, blackjack or roulette, or if it's been years since the last time you hit a casino, you may want to refresh yourself on some of the basic rules. Thankfully, there are many tutorials online that can help you become a pro in no time.

Hire dealers - If you live in a major city, chances are you may be able to hire dealers for a night to run your tables. While you could run the roulette wheel yourself with a simple spin, hiring dealers could really help your party go smoothly, since dealing cards can be difficult. You don't want to make your friends spend their whole night operating these tables when you can get professionals to do it for you. Having people come in for a few hours shouldn't be too expensive, and you can save yourself a major headache in the long run.

Consider fake money - While gambling with real money is certainly a rush, you don't want your guests to get upset if they end up losing a lot. This is why you may want to think about using fake money. This can keep everything even and make sure that everyone has fun without having to worry about settling up with the house at the end of the night.

Decorate with the right colors - If you want your home to look like Vegas, consider using black, gold and silver decorations to go with the nightlife theme of the city. Also, you should play the music of some of Vegas' biggest acts, such as Cher, Celine Dion, Tom Jones, Prince, Liberace or any other big-name acts that have graced the Vegas stage.
