3 Steps to Give Yourself a Pedicure at Home

July 26th, 2013 Healthy Living

If you don't have time to stop by the salon, you're going to need to resort to a pedicure at home, but it doesn't have to be as lackluster as it sounds! Even if you don't know the first thing about giving yourself a pedicure, you can take advantage of a few key tips to ensure that your toes look pretty and perfect. Whether you have an upcoming formal event to attend or simply want to pamper yourself, here are some key tips to getting your toes to look absolutely fabulous.

1. Buff away
Real Simple magazine stated that it's best to get rid of the grime and yellowness that might've built up on your toenails by buffing them first. Give them a good scrubbing with the rough side of the buffer, then use the smooth side to restore your nails' shine.

2. Use a foot soak
Cosmopolitan magazine reported that you can give yourself a true spa experience by soaking your feet. Look for a soaking formula that can help strengthen and whiten your toe nails as you do so. Not only is this part of the pedicure at home relaxation process, but it does a world of good for your feet, too!

3. Exfoliate
Exfoliating is the key to ensuring that your feet (and hands, for that matter!) are always soft and beautiful. Woman's Day magazine recommended exfoliating to remove dry, dead skin from the surface of your feet that may be dulling their complexion. This can be done during your soak or while you're in the shower.

While you might like trusting your feet to the hands of a professional, you may not always have the time and money to visit a salon. In these cases, the previous tips can come in handy!
