How To Make Your Own Charm Bracelet

May 30th, 2012 Jewelry

Have you always wanted your own charm bracelet without having to pay the price of an expensive jeweler? As it turns out, they're surprisingly easy to make! You will need to spend a bit of money accumulating supplies, but most of these can be found easily online. There are plenty of ways to go about doing this. This method is especially easy for beginners - once you have it under your belt, you'll have a strong foundation on which you can start basing more elaborate pieces!

1. Design. There are a couple of different ways to go about designing a charm bracelet. Perhaps the easiest is simply to pick up some gold charms and attach them to a gold bracelet. However, you can make things a little more personal by seeking out items that have more personal relevance to you. You can find charms in a number of different styles, such as ice skates or peace signs.

2. Picking the chain. Most charm bracelets are made from a length of chain - all you need to do is pick one that's the appropriate material and weight and attach clasps yourself. This is a surprisingly easy task that you should be able to take care of in no time. Just make sure it's strong enough to handle several charms dangling off of it!

3. Putting it all together. Now it's time to make the bracelet itself. Lay the bracelet on a flat surface and arrange the charms underneath it in the order you'd like them to be. Attach one jump rings each charm, to the bracelet, then slide the charms onto the ring. Voila! You've got a beautiful charm bracelet.
