Picnic Games You Can Play With No Equipment

December 30th, 2012 Seasonal

As much fun as it is to play a rousing game of wiffle ball or a round of Horse, you may not always have the necessary equipment to fit a game in. But just because you don't have any balls or gear doesn't mean you can't still have a great time! People have been entertaining themselves with their imaginations for years, and now it's your turn! Here are two great games that you can play with a group of people without having anything but yourselves.

1. Red rover. Red rover can get pretty intense, especially if it's a group of adults playing, but it's hard to beat the adrenaline rush of trying to bust through your friends' linked arms. Playing the game is simple, but if there are kids involved, make sure you make it easier for them to succeed.

2. Capture the flag. If it's been awhile since you last played capture the flag, you may have forgotten just how much fun it can be. There are tons of ways you can play the game - perhaps you make the entire neighborhood available, or maybe you just want to separate a field in two and have everyone running around in a localized area. Whatever you decide, make sure there's a way for players to get back into the game so that they aren't stuck waiting in jail the entire time.

Keeping yourself active and having fun without proper sporting equipment is just a matter of thinking back to the games you played as a child. There are plenty of great activities that you can come up with, as long as you're willing to brainstorm a little bit!
