Strait's Las Vegas Residency
Strait played two shows at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Friday, Aug. 13, and Saturday, Aug. 14. Early the following week, the country legend announced four additional dates at the same venue in Sin City: Dec. 3 and 4 of this year and Feb. 11 and 12, 2022.
Tickets for all four Las Vegas dates went on sale on Aug. 28.
"The Ace in the Hole Band and I have been looking forward to this day for a year and a half," Strait wrote on social media about his two August shows. "I cannot wait to see Vegas and all of my great fans once again. It's been way too long. We will finally ride again. See you soon."

The May news of Strait's Vegas return came after his Notre Dame Stadium gig in Indiana was canceled due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
"With spectator safety the highest priority, a concert featuring country music star George Strait on Aug. 7 at Notre Dame Stadium has been canceled," reads a statement on the school's website.
The statement adds that concert promoters and University officials hope to find a future date for Strait to play Notre Dame Stadium.
Fans who already have purchased tickets should receive a refund at the point of purchase.
Strait's show at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota has been rescheduled for Nov. 13, 2021.

Strait released his most recent album, Honky Tonk Time Machine, in 2019. With "Weight of the Badge," the multi-platinum selling superstar became the first artist to have 100 songs on Billboard's Country Airplay chart.
In October 2019, Strait was given the Bob Hope Award for Excellence in Entertainment, which honors entertainers who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the United States military through film, literature or music.
Since wrapping up his The Cowboy Rides Away Tour in 2014, the Texas native has continued to perform several dates each year. His hugely popular Strait to Vegas residency kicked off in 2016.
Strait had a knee replaced right before quarantine last year.
"I had been planning that for a while. It went very well but I had to rehab on my own due to the obvious conditions," Strait told Billboard last year. "I'm ready to go again now though. All good."
